Brian R. Whitemore, CFI is the son of owners/founder Robert B. Whitemore and Pamela A. Whitemore. Brian may say his babysitter as a kid was typically the working end of a shovel following his dad around fire scenes. In 2005, after graduating from Prior Lake High School, Brian attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 2009 with a degree in business. Following graduation, Brian began working for Whitemore Fire Consultants as an Evidence Technician as well as shadowing seasoned fire investigators daily at various fire scenes and lab examinations.

In 2010, Brian successfully challenged the IAAI – FIT (Fire Investigation Technician) certification which was the first step towards his CFI. In 2013, he met the criteria set forth by the IAAI to challenge the CFI test, successfully doing so in August of 2013. In 2011, Brian was hired by the Bloomington Fire Department where he served as a paid on-call fire fighter until 2017, at which time he was promoted to the rank of Captain until he stepped away from the fire service in 2019. During his time at the Bloomington Fire Department, he served on the Executive Board and the Ad Hoc committee.

Brian has been extremely involved with the MNIAAI (local chapter of the IAAI) where he has served as chair of several committees including Merchandise, Constitution & Bylaws, Training and Education as well as Sponsorships. He has served on the board of directors with the MNIAAI since 2014 with most recently serving the members as the 2nd VP. In 2023, Brian was asked by colleagues of the IAAI (International) to join the IAAI CFI Committee as well as the IAAI Nominations Committee.

Brian and his beautiful wife Molly live in Prior Lake, MN with their two children Jane and Freddie. When not working they enjoy traveling, live music, and given the ages of their kids, pretty much anything on the Disney channel (sarcasm.) In his free time, he enjoys fishing, attending sporting events, and trying not to go into heart failure watching his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers & Minnesota Twins.
