Steven Arzdorf, a Minnesota native, brings over 19 years of dedicated service in the fire industry. As a member of the inaugural hiring class for South Metro Fire Department, he served as a Fire Inspector and Investigator for 7 years, contributing to the establishment and growth of the department. Before his tenure at South Metro Fire, Steve honed his skills and dedication to public service as a paid-on call firefighter with the East Bethel Fire Department.

With an associate degree in fire science from Waldorf College and a Certified Fire Investigator accreditation from the International Association of Arson Investigators, Steve’s commitment to fire safety is fortified by a comprehensive range of certifications, including Fire Fighter I & II, Fire Inspector, Hazardous Material Technician, and expertise in conducting pre-fire plan reviews.

Before transitioning to the fire service, Steve spent 16+ years in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) sector. His multifaceted roles as a project manager, designer, installer, technician and sales professional endowed him with a diverse skill set that amplifies his problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. This knowledge provides insight into investigating HVAC and mechanical fires.

Outside of his professional life, Steve finds joy in family life, residing with his wife, Stacey, faithful companion Ella the dog, and the proud parent of two adult children. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hanging on the pontoon, traveling, golfing and woodworking.
